Song Arrangement Theory

The following are the quick reference for arranging popular songs

1. Use walking base note. (descending)

for example. in C major key, use palgal Cadence as ending: subdominant chord–> tonic chord. instead of the usual IV –I, extend the music with walking base (downward) chord.

Dm/F—> C/E—->Cm/Eb—> Bb/D—G—>C

2. Circle of Fifth

for example:

Cm7—>Fm7–>Bb7—-> Eb
